The Sun Hon, is Here to Stay

Hi Sweetheart;

Enclosed, you will find one of the mostest nicest articles this sad sack has ever gazed upon. The man that printed it must have been a coolie to write such a heartening piece.

Hey Stinky, things are beginning to shine like a new dollar. Although you know I still have a year to do, still believe we (the regulars) will be amongst the first to be dispersed. After the last conflict, those of the unlucky USNR remained until ‘21. Seeing as how the navy is 400 times greater today than yesteryears, m’thinks they will remain for several years longer than we of the upper bracket. Could be wrong, but 85% is reservists, while the other 15% have a definate time set on their contract. Put August 27 of next year down as our V-day.That my love, is the day when tortured hours of lonliness and wanting you will come to a screeching halt. Expect to get at least one more leave before that tho’. My my but it feels good all over outside today. The sun hon, is here to stay. I like you more ‘n more with each hours passing.

That slight discrepancy of the past two days inebriation is past. Naturally one of the lads is still keeping well spirited, but he has a long time to stay in this feature picture.

Hey stinko, when this school closes, and I’m sure it will. You will have to send my seabag--not yet, but at my next permanent address. Some silly rule say that one must own more than a couple

of suits of dungarees with small accessories. I’m happy enough to buy a whole new outfit, but that 100 skins worth of stuff at home would just be a big waste then.

Are you learning to cook? Better hurry hon., even married people eat sometime. And I ain’t like Hap.--funny, never owned enough clothes to scatter them here an thar. Thievery is very much in evidence, so I hang them (my other suit) in the (neatly) in my scrub bucket.

Love

Kenny Lee
